Nicki Minaj - Home Once Again

So, Nicki Minaj was definitely here in New York all weekend (not sure if she's still here, but if you are, definitely hit me up!). Anyway, as can be expected, she got love all over her home city. She made two appearances on BET's "106 and Park", did a telephone interview with Terrance and Rocsi on their Sunday morning radio show on Power 105.1 FM, and I heard there were a few others, but honestly those were the only ones I caught personally.

As usual, my girl looked TOO DAMN GOOD! I heard a few people giving her flack for her get up on her first 106 appearance when Young Money released the "Bedrock" video, but you know what? It worked for her. If the average chick would've worn it, yep it would've looked a mess, but hey, she's Nicki Minaj, the "Harajuku Barbie" bitch!

I'm definitely proud of her though. As I always say, I'm a supporter of anyone doing something positive, especially when that positive thing is you making good music. I'm even more supportive since she's from my home city (*sings like Alicia* in New Yoooooork) and because she attended my alma mater (for high school anyway) Fiorello H LaGuardia HS of Music and Art & Performing Arts (yep, the "FAME" school).

During her radio interview on Power 105, she said that she would be taking a little break from performing to work on her album religiously (although she did slip up and say there's the possibility of her doing a few shows for and after the New Year's Day). Nicki, we're definitely looking forward to it. Like I said, hit me up, especially if you're still in New York.

Here's a clip of her performance from Monday's "106 and Park" appearance with Robin Thicke. You'll enjoy it.

Johnny B Williams - The Way I Worship

Last night I made a YouTube about a dude named Johnny B Williams who I met at Bishop Hezekiah Walker's service. I told everyone to support his efforts pretty much because of his spirit (I love it when I meet cool humble people). Well now that I've listened to the album, I can go a step further and tell you to support him, because the boy is BAD!!! (that's a good bad though *smile*).

I definitely enjoyed the album. There's a little bit of praise, a lot of worship and some inspiration for your soul. If you don't have this in your library, FIX THAT! I already have my autographed copy (thanks Johnny!).

By the way, if you can make it, he'll be in the Bensalem, PA location of Bishop Walker's church tomorrow night (Thursday, Dec 17, 2009) to sing for the conference there. Stop by you won't be disappointed. I'll also be there, so make sure that you say hello when you see me! (Smile)

Graffiti

So, I'm definitely late in posting this, but hey, you know what they say, better late than never (*smile*). Everyone knows that I'm an avid Chris Brown supporter. As stated before, in no way do I condone the beating that Rihanna endured, however, I believe that it was a severe mistake the guy made, and he deserves a second chance. (What can I say, I tend to always route for the underdog).

So, I purchased Chris' new album "Graffiti" on the release date, and it has been playing in my iTunes ever since. This was a tremendous surprise to me, because normally when I'm anticipating something as much as I was this album, I'm over the hype within a day or two. However, the musicality of the album actually even surprised me. Chris definitely did a piece of singing!

As everyone probably knows from my Twitter and my YouTube, my favorite track on the album is by far "Take My Time" featuring Tank. He gave me vocals to the tenth power on that album. I was too pleased.

Needless to say, Im even more a promoter than I was before... So, if you haven't already, go get the album (preferably the Extended Edition). I promise you won't be disappointed!

My Fall/Winter Shopping Suggestions for Men

Lately, I've been asked more and more frequently to what do I contribute my style? Well, frankly to me. I know what looks good on me, and I tend to know what looks good on other people. What can I say? It runs in the family (well for the most part... we're still working on my little brother lol). But with that question, I've been asked where do I shop. Honestly, I shop anywhere. I'm not a label whore like some, because you can wear the most expensive clothes and still look tacky or you can wear the cheapest clothes and make them look expensive. I'll spend anything from $.50 - which I have - to $1000 - which I have - on clothes if I think they look good. Hell if I like something enough I may spend a little more. But, I decided to help you out and let you know (guys) a few places that you can shop to look good. I'll even throw in a few items that you can buy to get you through this fall/winter season.

1. Top Man
I was actually introduced to this store by a guy I was talking to a while back. Since my introduction, I fell in love with it. I won't say that the clothes are the absolute cheapest, but they will work well if you put yourself on a budget. You can definitely go in and grab a few items and if you play with them the right way (mixing and matching on different days/occasions) get away with wearing the same thing this week and two weeks from now. I definitely like their accessories as well. They have a lot of nice man jewelry (please fellas gay, straight or other it is time to start stepping your game up). I usually go to the location in SOHO, but they have an online site too. However, I will say certain things that are in the store aren't on the site and vice versa so if you can combine your shopping between the two, you should definitely do so.

2. H&M
Good old faithful H&M will probably always be on my list (unless by some tragedy they just completely allow themselves to fall off, but I don't see that happening anytime soon). H&M has very nice quality stuff for a very affordable price. The stuff has gotten a little more costly than in prior years, but its not astronomical, so I won't complain. H&M is a good place to get just about everything, ranging from jeans, to shirts (tee's, button ups, etc.), to cardigans, to outter wear, to jewelry ... I did say just about everything, right? Oh, ok. Next time listen. But, its a good spot. I've noticed that a lot more guys have been stepping their game up in the looks department though, and I've seen a wide array of men shopping their: gay, straight, black, white, asian, tall, short, "thugs", pretty boys, etc. H&M is uniting the male population. Unlike Top Man (who's counterpart is Top Shop which I haven't really checked out yet), I can say I love the women's section in H&M as well. I put my sister on it and have taken all of my lady friends there at least once when they attended an industry event with me (the less formal ones of course). The downside to H&M is that they don't have online ordering (yeah its something that I think completely sucks too) and every location has something different. You can literally go to each store on 5th Avenue and find something completely different and then shop at the ones in LI, BK and even LA and find things that you didn't find in the others. That has its plus side (less likely that too many people will be wearing what you are wearing) and its down side (you have to actually go to several locations to find the best stuff). But, I'll say its worth it. They have two SOHO locations that you can attack, but I'm not really a fan of either (although I did get a nice coat from the one). My favorite location is the one on the corner of 18th Street and 5th Avenue. Check it out.

3. Uniqlo
Once again I was introduced to this store by someone that I used to talk to (I guess you see a trend here ... I talk to the fashionable people of the world lol). I'm very glad that I got introduced to this store. Upon my initial introducing, I was a super fat ass, so I couldn't fit into anything in the store, and that alone made me completely ignore it, but as I lost some of the weight and started to fit into their stuff, I began to love it. The stuff here is definitely not too expensive, and its stuff that will look good on just about anyone. They're known for their bright colors, which I'm not necessarily into, but they pull it off well. I actually like just about everything here (minus their graphic tee selection). Their outterwear is definitely looking promising, as are their sweaters and I just bought a pair of corduroy pants from there (yes, they're coming back). However, what I'm most in love with is their accessories (i.e. hats, scarfs, gloves) and their underwear, because they fit me just right. I definitely feel like Uniqlo is on the up (even though I didn't get an invite to their fashion show this year ... *ahem*.

So, those are the three places I'd suggest for you to visit if you want some nice stuff for a decent price (I didn't say it was cheap y'all, but its not outrageous). If you have any questions, or if you want some person and/or budget specific suggestions, for you in our out of NYC, feel free as always to give me a shout at jiggymuzik@gmail.com.

I am clothed with: Coat H&M, Sweater Merona from Target, Jeans GAP, earrings Target

President Barack Obama - Nobel Peace Prize Winner

President Barack Obama was announced as the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner today. The overall concensus is one of shock seeing that the president was only in office for fourteen days prior to the nomination deadline, and in many people's opinions has still yet to make any concrete peacemaking achievements. However, the president said that he would accept the award in an efford to build a momentum and "as a call to action, a call for all nations to confront the challenges of the 21st century."

Our president said that he was surprised and deeply humble by the honor, and plans to make the trip to accept his prize. His administration confirmed that he would be donating the total $1.4 million dollars of the prize money to various charities although they were unsure as to which charities would be on that list.

Everyone knows that I am and always have been an avid Obama supporter, and I'm proud of and happy for him. I hope this is only the beginning for him, because I expect nothing but greatness from him, and I will back him 100% as long as he continues to move in this positive direction. GO OBAMA!! YES WE CAN!!!!!!!

Nia on Wendy

So, actress Nia Long appeared on the Wendy Williams show today and as always she was BEYOND gorgeous. Me being an avid Wendy watcher, I missed the whole beginning of the show, but when I turned to the show, everything ceased because Nia was on the screen. I didn't really get a chance to hear what Wendy was talking to her about (although I know it was about the new documentary "Good Hair" that comes out today), but it didn't really matter, she was gorgeous. I did hear Nia say that her son gets scared when she cuts her hair, but boooooy you better recognize, ya momma is sexy!!

Of course Chris Rock was there with her, but Wendy didn't seem too interested in him, as it should be (oops did I say that?). Nah, I don't hate Chris, but you are getting into too much right now with your law suit and your order of protection, you don't need to be doing any interviews except with your attorney (especially if Nia Long is there, because you WILL be outshined).

Although I didn't get the opportunity to see the actual interview, I did get to see a clip of it on Wendy's website (http://www.wendyshow.com/) and Nia and Chris discussed their blind date set up by their hairstylists in the 90's. Chris admitted that after the date he gave Nia the wrong number, because she said during the date that she knew where to get some 'good dick' if she needed it. She said that she was grown and that she could admit that it was the truth (ooo was I shocked). Now, Nia that was a lil nasty and whore like, but I don't give a damn, Chris do you see that woman??

Nonetheless, I will be going to see the Documentary today to support my boo. But Nia, you still didn't answer my question I tweeted on Twitter. Will you have my babies, please? (you can hit up @JIGGYMUZIK and let me know what's good *wink*)

Chris Tried Wendy? How You Doin'?

So, apparently Chris Brown doesn't know how to keep his name out of the media in a negative light. Yesterday as he got off of the plane at JFK Airport here in NY, Chris Brown decided to send a few tweets. One such tweet read: "one of the guyz looked like wendy williams or was it the other way around....lol.."
Ooo ... Did Chris just call Wendy a man?

Well we All know Wendy wasn't having that. The comment was made while she was taping her show, and Wendy replied: "in other words, he’s calling me a man. Well you know, at least if I was a man then I would spend my time bullying other men, perhaps, and not..women."
I love the way Wendy let's them have it ... Oooo Chris, "How you doin'?"
*These are their Twitter profile pics lol
